Who I am
I bring to my clients 16 years of experience in brand and trade strategy, and global perspective from business activities in 40 countries on all continents.
After graduating as Engineer Economist and serving as officer in the German Army, where I gained invaluable experience in people leadership, and a spell as accountant, I began my faceted career in marketing.
Progressing through Key Account, Field Force and Brand Management roles at British American Tobacco, I built up my holistic brand development philosophy, with a wealth of hands-on experience in all aspects of the mix – from brand/portfolio strategy and product/packaging to customer relationship management and communications.
Intrigued by the revival of one-to-one communications, I augmented my blue-chip marketing background with a diploma in Direct Marketing.
Based in London at BAT’s Head Office, I gained on a global level in-depth experience in strategic marketing management, organization development and change management with focus on trade marketing.
From 2000 onwards, as Head of Marketing Development in China, I put my holistic brand development approach to work utilizing retail as the new media in building brand equity.
My hybrid career and these varied experiences led in 2003 to the notion of Marketfocus Consulting, a bridge between traditional and new ways of brand building.
I embrace new challenges regardless of scope and duration with enthusiasm to deliver thought-provoking solutions and would be delighted to have an initial, free of charge, discussion about the needs of your business. |
